A great break from all of the DS shovelware.

This is an RPG done right. A stellar soundtrack, captivating characters, and a battle system that keeps you on your toes are the main ingredients of this DS masterpiece. I can assure you, everything you will see in this game has not been recycled from any other game, therefore, "The World Ends With You" is a new experience from start to finish.
This game takes place in an alternate Shibuya, where the Reapers play their game of life. Your character, Neku, is one of the Players throughout TWEWY. This game is presented in chapters that are labeled in "Days" and "Weeks". Every day presents a new challenge for you to overcome to stay alive and ends with an important plot point. Every new week brings a new partner character (another Player) to help Neku progress through that week, which keeps you looking for new battle techniques.
The battles in this game take place on the upper and lower screen of the system. Neku's (your) section of the battle is located on the lower screen, and you control his motions and attacks directly using the touch screen. On the upper screen, your partner character fights their battle. You can control this battle using the control pad, or you can just set them to AUTO. If your partner pulls off the right combos, you will be able to use a special attack that is unique to every partner.
Altogether, this is a game I would recommend to everyone. This is what we want, Nintendo. We don't want more garbage that says "Hey, the DS has a touch screen! Look what it can do". I think we know full well by now, what the DS is capable of, and would expect more excellent games like this one.
