Do you like ramen?
TWEWY is the most notable for its suspenseful story. It keeps you captivated till the end, and even though I accidentally spoiled myself online, I still played through the whole game and beyond just to see the events play out myself. But not only does TWEWY offer a great plot, it also excels in introducing a unique battle system which will attract serious and casual gamers alike. The fighting system is unique in that you use pins (with different powers attached to each, all activated by a stylus action) to fight across two screens. If the fighting gets too extreme for you, simply set the top screen to auto-play, and your partner will be controlled by the game. If you feel the game is too easy, then take the challenge of fighting on both screens by using both the touch screen and the buttons.
The style of the game is phenomenal: it reeks of an angsty, punk-scene atmosphere which Shibuya is renowned for. You have access to a string of shops where you can purchase the latest threads to improve your stats; your options range from angelic girl-band sweaters and skinny jeans to frilly gothic-lolita dresses and bonnets. The music which blasts during every battle and in every store is full-length JRock & JPop. The wide variety of food available in this game is also an enjoyable treat; just the mere description of the various bowls of ramen is enough to make your mouth water.
TWEWY is definitely a must-have for any DS owner who loves high fashion, enthralling plots, and mouth-watering descriptions of ramen. (Don't worry. Noodle-haters will still have plenty of other options to drool over.)
