Good old days
It was the first game ever to let you man the guns of a bomber and shot down incoming interceptors. Or take the seat of a dive bomber to make a ground attack (for luftwaffe) or jump on the RAF side and try to intercept incoming bombers. Moreover and the best feature of the game was you were able to prepare a strike plan on a map screen allocating you forces either to bomb a selected series of targets or arranging fighter escorts or just air superiority missions. it was a new feature indeed no game ever offered. Then You just jumped on a plane in any of the strike groups to carry out the mission and you would observe how well other groups performed at the end of the mission.
I remember there were lots of targets to consider, aviation factories, railway stations, urban bombing, radar stations, vehicle factories.. etc. Pilots were also valuable as well as aircraft (they were also limited in number) as they earned experiences and performed better for next missions. it was a solid game which i played it for days and nights. Its pity that they dont release such games anymore.
