An amazing game that plays great on the psp.

User Rating: 8.2 | Thrillville PSP
In Thrillville you play as a kid who becomes park manager at a huge theme park franchise made by some old guy named Mortimer. The plot for the game is pretty weak but this isnt a game you get for the story. The graphics are great on the psp, gameplay is perfect, and the sound is... different.

First off, the graphics are great. Not the best on psp but are still up there. All the attractions and coasters are intricitaly detailed and character models are good too. They are wierd though, they use the big head unrealism for the character models. Environment is lush and detailed and with each park there are 3 different areas, all with different themes. Theres a space theme, jurrasic theme, medieval theme, and many more to keep the game anything but blan.

The gameplay is amazing for the psp. Making rollercoasters may not be as easy as making it on a pc, but they still worl great. You can make your own custom coasters, using a fun, easy to use, and powerfull system. You even get to ride them! One of the downfalls is that you can only build in certain areas; there are 3-4 block sections to build stalls, carnival rides, or games in, and 1-2 areas specifically for rollercoasters. It limits your ability to make more intricate parks, and another factor that holds it down is that there is a power meter: you can only make so many and so big coasters before it denies you the ability to make anything. When you make carnival rides you can ride them! It sounds dumb but its a pretty cool feature. You can play the games you make; some of the shooting mini games play better than on most other psp fps titles! You can ride anything and play anything you make which makes it alot better.

It isnt as in depth as other roller coaster sim games but its pretty intricate. You can start marketing campaigns, reasearch new rides, loan money from banks, and pretty much everything else on a roller coaster sim game but the real limitations are present in the roller coaster creation. You cannot go underground, you can place scenery around the park and you cant rasie or lower ground. Another HUGE limitation is that each park is pretty small, even though they have 3 parts, you cannot tweak it, which makes it a little disappointing.

The music in the game is wierd. Its like generic alternative rock bands and some random music (some female black singer.) The sound effects are cool. Whenever you go down a drop in a coastter you hear everyone scream, and you can even make your guy scream by pressing the x button. Overall this is a defiante purchase. Although it lacks alot from other coaster sims, it makes a perfect landing on the psp and has no problems (great loading times, framerate, glitches, etc.) If you want a game where you can make your own park and ride it, get this game.
