Not as good as some of the similar games like this that appeared on the SNES, but still great.
The gameplay is very simple. Every other flying thing except you is bad, and you must shoot it. You have two different guns at the beggining which you can switch using the L and R triggers. But throughout the game you get lots of goodies for killing baddies, like bigger lasers, extra guns, and two smaller ships that fly around you, which can shoot, but more just act as shields. The graphics are alot better than you'd think. The background's sometimes sway and swift in a dizzying wave sometimes. All the ships look great too. The explosions are a little on the weak side though. The sound is great, very superior to the arcade version. The BGM is some pretty rockin' cheesy 80's metal, but it works.
The replay value is very good, because you can just play this game over and over again. Plus, it's very hard to beat, so that will take you awhile. Overall, this is a definite pick up for the SNES if you are a fan of such games as Raiden Trad or Super Nova.
