Tiger Woods 2K4 is a challenging, fun, and beautiful game that captures the spirit of golf.

Golf is a beautiful game, out on pristine courses, looking at amazing vistas, and lets not forget the beer cart girls. It is also an amazingly frustrating game, hitting a tiny little ball hundreds of yards only to be unable to bang it 2 inches into a big cup. Tiger Woods 2k4 captures both of these essences perfectly.

Visually this game has it all. From the level of detail with the character creation (over 50 features to alter), the motion and fluidity of the animations, and the courses themselves are all fantastic. Often times I would find myself repeating the course flyovers, just to see the breath-taking beauty of it all again.

From a sound perspective there is not really much there, but the announcers are very funny, and far less repetative than most EA Sports games.

Lastly the game really is challenging. Even when your character is maxed out, some of the courses are really hard. And the AI will almost always get par, forcing you to have to birde everything if you want to beat them in Match Play. And forget the fact that they will come up with crazy chip ins and such just when you think you have the match in hand. but that is what golf is. It is supposed to be frustrating, and it is that much more satisfying when you figure a course out, and soundly dominate someone.

The game has a lot of extras, from Trophy Balls, to Tracking Tiger, to Scenarios, and Real-Time Events. Plus it has a well-stocked proshop (not enough variety with the clothing though) to really customize your character. All of this variety is good, because it adds a lot of replay value, and makes up for the ridiculously easy Tour Season mode (at least the first season, which takes a long time to complete just in itself)

Tiger Woods is a gorgeous game that retains its challenge even in the later stages. WIth a ton of different gameplay modes, huge customization features for your characater, and a lot of unlockables, this game is as addictive and fun as any I have ever played.
