Wacky, Funny and Massively Good

Storyline: The evil TimeSplitters have scattered time crystals across different periods of time, and it's up to Sgt. Cortez and Cpl. Hart to get them back before the human race is destroyed. There are ten levels which Cortez travels to in various human forms, where he assumes the role of that person while in that era of time. The goal is to find and collect the time crystal hidden in each level. You'll be traveling to these exciting locations, each of which is superbly detailed and unique:
- 1992 Siberia
- 1932 Chicago
- 1895 Notre Dame
- 2280 Planet X
- 2019 Neo Tokyo
- 1853 Wild West
- 1972 Atom Smasher
- 1920 Aztec Ruins
- 2315 Robot Factory
- 2401 Space Station
It's also important on which difficulty you have the game on because certain achievements can only be unlocked by completing levels on different difficulties. Co-Op Story: If your having a bit of trouble getting past a level, or you want a friend to play with you on the story, you can both play using the Co-Op setting! Be warned that more enemies will appear if two people are playing!
---
Multi Player: This is where the action is at! Up to ten people (4 humans and 6 bots) can battle it out across a vast selection of various maps to choose from. There are many fun game modes to choose from, including the classic Capture the Bag and always fun Team Deathmatch. You and 3 other humans can play against up to 6 bots for intense 10 player action. You'll be able to select a character to play from the selection screen. What makes TimeSplitters 2 special is the fact that, whatever NPC you've encountered in the story mode, you can unlock and play in multi player mode! For example, say you played and beat the level 1920 Aztec Ruin and want to play as the Stone Golem. You simply go to character selection, and scroll down to the character to see if you've unlocked it. Then, you can play as the Stone Golem wherever character selection is possible!
---
Map Making: Another fun addition to TS2 is the ability to design and create your very own maps to play on in multi player mode! Each map is saved to the console's storage device and you can make them as big or small as you want. You can also add stuff in them like turrets.
---
Challenges:
If you think you've got what it takes, there are a host of challenges to complete to unlock cool stuff.
Challenges range from throwing bricks into windows, to killing as many zombies as possible in a small room, to shooting cardboard cutouts! As you are playing a challenge, the more you progress, the more difficult it becomes. Higher points will earn you better awards.
---
Amateur League:
In this mode, you have to kill bots in a deathmatch game. It's purpose is to teach players how to play the game, while introducing concepts that help players familiarize themselves with the game.
You'll also earn awards for each successful match completed!
Honorary League: Much more challenging than Amateur, in this mode you'll have to defeat bots in different game modes like Flame Tag, Virus, Team Deathmatch and more. It's essentially the moderate version of the League series.
Again, you'll get awards for each match completed!
Elite League:
The pro version of the League series. You have little life, move fast and must have a quick trigger. In this mode, you'll have all the game modes available and must complete them with good timing to get awards. Be warned that some matches are nigh impossible without weeks of preparing in Multi Player to hone your eye coordination and weapons skill. Complete Elite League to complete the entire series! Bravo, if you complete ALL matches and mode, its an accomplishment you deserve.

Playability: You may be thinking, since this is a FPS and since it's fast-paced, it's more than likely prone to lag spikes? Wrong. TimeSplitters 2 is unique in that it has NO problems with lagging. You could be in an intense deathmatch with rockets flying everywhere and bullets spraying the screen with smoke animations and the game will not lag ONE BIT! Weapons are also diverse and there are dozens to choose from. You'll have an arsenal of weapons from different eras of history at your disposal! From the simple crossbow to the advanced homing launcher, each weapon has different damage amounts.
Bots: Bots do more than just fill in the space for games, they do funny animations and movements when firing at other players! They also move faster and have more health when the difficulty is cranked up. While you cannot trade weapons or assign commands to bots on your team, they are still just plain old fun to have. There's nothing more funny than 10 Monkeys on Flame Tag, running around with miniature flamethrowers using speed boosts and shrink boosts! Classic.

Music: The background music fits smoothly with each level and map in the game. 1992 Siberia has that agent vibe while 1853 Wild West has a western, heroic theme. Multi Player maps also have different music themes. All in all, the music is phenomenally done, bar none! Graeme Norgate, the composer, does a fantastic job making the soundtrack.

Closure: This is a MUST HAVE game for FPS lovers. It's so addictive, you'll be playing it ten years from now like me! Spend a Saturday night playing with 3 friends! There are so many things to unlock, too!
Recommended: Absolutely! If you haven't tasted this wonderful game yet, you've been missing out on a gem. Have a Nintendo Wii? No problem, TS2 works fine in the Wii as well as the GameCube. I'm not sure if the WiiU can play GameCube games though.
If you search Amazon, you can probably find a copy of TimeSplitters 2 for like $5.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy (if you don't already have one), get some friends and schedule a game day for some awesomely addicting and comedic game play!
