Time splitters - an excellent game with the same name.

Time splitters is an Excellent game that could have been even more but then Id be pulling for too much. The game keeps elements of the first two but lacks some minor ones that could have made it better. Things like where is the female lead from part two? Then there are things that make me say WTF? While the story is slightly the same it is different in a lot of aspects. The Story a space marine has been sent back in time to collect time crystals from an alien race. If he can do this he will rewrite history and save humanity. Where you come in this time? After having already retrieved the crystals you return to your original time and try to employ the crystals but something has gone wrong and now you have to turn around and go back in time again to find some shady villain who is hoping through time in order to bring peace. Confused yet I am, As oppose to the last game this time you dont time jump ala quantum leap. Where you would take over the body of someone in the time period you went to this time you actually use your own body and encounter the people in the time that you probably would have body swapped with. This is good, but in a way they threw the old story out the window because you revisit some of the old characters who have some of the same motive such as harry tipper but are in different situations totally from the last game sounds weird to me too. In short you can play this one with out having to have played the last one. They also switched voices for some of the characters. Harry Tipper sounded very heroic and sarcastic in TS2. Now he sounds like a surfer dude from cali who wants to party all the time. The sounds are a mixed bag. SFX are cool but the music leaves much to be desired. The game play is great and has changed little from the first two installments. You run and gun at high speeds in a veriety of different and challenging games such as death match and bag tag. Then there the engaging story mode where you travel through time as mention above with hilarious outcomes. You also help yourself out from time to time like Back to the future. You can collect over 100 different characters who have different abilities when playing. The characters are a little different this time but much more fun to use and collect. Sorry halo fans still no jump button or deep strategy here. Game play is usually fast paced and doesnt allow for a lot of thinking. The graphics are decent. There is no RE4 wow factor but they get the job done. Some clipping and the usual trouble rear their heads. It does have a brilliant artistic design though. Enjoy! The value on this on is high Id say because there is so much to unlock like characters modes of play and an engaging story you will want to play through a couple of times. When all said and done its another great FPS not on caliber with Halo or Half life but pretty close. Buy or at least rent it a couple of times. PEACE OUT!!
