Best bargain game out there!
User Rating: 8.8 | TimeSplitters: Future Perfect PS2
I was itching to play a new PS2 game the other day but felt cheap so went to Wal-Mart's discount bin and picked this game up. I started playing the arcade mode first and it was alright. The maps were pretty good though the weapons weren't as good as I hoped. These games were fully customizable but was a little bit tricky getting started. Using R2 as the trigger button also took a little bit of time getting used to. The tournament style was pretty average (like old school Unreal or Quake) but more quirky. The graphics are so-so but then again most FPS on PS2 are so so (apart from Black). There were also a few moments where framerates slipped but overall it runs fairly smoothly. The story mode reminds me of the No One Lives Forever series with all the funny/weird characters you meet and the side conversations from the enemy grunts... The explosions were also fun to watch (unlike ahem.. Project Snowblnd). Some complain of the short story but I am playing a hard and it takes me a few tries to get through the missions so i would say more like 8-10 hours just in story mode. But the value added with Arcade/League modes really increases its longeivity. TS:FP is a great pick-up/ recreational game for all!
