This is a good old-school console FPS!

Future Perfect is a good console FPS. You play as Cortez as he chases down some dude in different time periods to stop him from creating the Timesplitters. You can also play in arcade mode which is a good way to spend time. Sadly, the games online component has been shut down but you can still duke it out with buddies thru split-screen.

The game is pretty straight-forward with it's shooting mechanics. You run and gun and cover to reload. During the story mission, you are almost always fighting alongside a AI controlled buddy but you will mostly do all the work. The guns are cool and controls extremely well but lacks a certain feeling when you shoot them.

I've seen better FPS graphics on the PS2 (Black for example) but the framerate is constant and smooth which is very important for me. The levels are varied due to the fact that you travel thru different time periods.

The sound is excellent and the dialogue is top notch and very funny. The sound effects are decent but nothing to blow you away. The story doesn't make sense half the time but it's still cool to go thru because Cortez owns.

Even if the game is somewhat Old-School in it's approach and the online part is offline, I recommend any FPS fans to give it a try. It's cool.
