Never had so much hack'n'slash fun since Diablo 2.
Having a turn-table of your character anytime on the Inventory screen lets you enjoy putting on and off the wide variety of weapons and armor, not to say there are tons of rare and epic items to collect. However, storage space is greatly limited, but Immortal Throne fixed that with the Caravan feature, along with other great improvements, though monsters seemed to be tougher to kill in the expansion version.
Some of the improvements over Diablo 2 (sorry I had to compare) I felt is the respawning of your dead character, which did away with leaving you naked until recovering back your 'body', and also doing away with repairing. And though Titan Quest may seem to be a monotone clickfest at first, its addictive gameplay is still undeniable.
