Being a mid level Pc owner is sort of tough in this current gen/ next gen transition. I was worried that when I tried to play a next gen game like Titanfall I was going to have a experience like when I had a Voodoo 2 card to play Quake 3 Arena and when I bought Soldier of Fortune, the fps was unbearable. That wasn't the case with Titanfall! It plays without a graphic hiccup on my AMD A-10 5800k with 8GB of ram and no dedicated graphics card. Some of my settings are on low, but it still plays next/current gensy (better than a xbox 360/ps3 game but not as good as a xbox one/ps4 game).Gameplay wise it's a quick paced shooter but you don't feel overwhelmed with the speed of it. They really found a almost near perfect balance in my opinion. It's a multiplayer centric game and even though they have a campaign mode with lots of dialog and a storyline, you still play against human (and computer controlled) opponents so you tend to focus more on staying alive and getting kills than remembering what the characters are even talking about in the story. Of course this game wouldn't be called Titanfall without titans falling from the sky. Once you meet the time requirements you are given the ability to summon a titan, or giant weaponized robot on the battlefield. Controlling the titan feels sort of fluid considering you're inside a giant robot, sort of like a more agile version of heavy weapons guy on Team Fortress 2.Titans also have a special weapon (like missile salvos) and a special ability (like catcthing enemy projectiles and sending them back at them). If playing with a keyboard/mouse you better have some moderate typing skills as I have never played a shooter that had so many vital commands that you must press. Titans are fun to control but I enjoy being the nimble (you can wall run, double jump, and move in all kinds of crazy ways) pilot with my anti titan weapon assisting one of my teammates in a titan. I just get pleasure out of a enemy thinking he's got a one on one titan battle with my teammate and I blindside him with a rocket.Ok now to my negatives. The file size to download Titanfall is around 50GB, with close to 35GB in uncompressed audio. They explained that the audio size was to keep the game playable on lower end computers and believe me it works. I also don't like when you choose a pilot/titan load out they give you no visual confirmation on what you chose. Really these complaints are small considering how fun and PC friendly this game is. In a age where PC games try to set the new benchmark standards, it seems like Respawn went the extra mile to ensure almost all could enjoy this title. Great job!
