WORKS WELL FOR THE MOST PART. BUT, AS A WHOLE, TITANFALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE.

User Rating: 7 | Titanfall XONE

TITANFALL is the work of a group of developers forming a new studio after having left Infinity-Ward.

The game certainly has great graphics. Controls. Beautifully stylized backgrounds. And tons of kinetic action. But , as a whole, there's just not enough appeal to keep it from being anything other than a launch vehicle to sell Microsoft's new and highly advanced juggernaut.

It's not a bad game - which my score obviously tells - but where TITANFALL succeeds at delivering frantically intense action and thrills, it fails to deliver a truly worthwhile experience.

It has its ups - and they're certainly good ones - which I mentioned in the second paragraph of my review. But the downs do weigh down this game.

After awhile - and after having played the same maps over and over - the game starts to drag. And the conflicts and campaigns lose momentum. You start to feel like your'e just rehashing the same match you just played two matches prior.

And the rewards for in game accomplishments - known as BURN CARDS - (though they're fun at first) start to ware out there welcome.

Overall, there is plenty of fun to be had with TITANFALL. It delivers on being a thrilling and exciting experience. And the TITANS are certainly fun to drive - for the most part, they have great handling and are good at making their way around the map. But - like I said earlier in the review - the fun and thrills start to ware down. And rather fast if I might say.

Still, if you're a die-hard shooter fan, then I highly recommend a play...

But for the hefty price tag on the box...? A recommendation is all I will give.
