It's a nice try but the lack of content in this game is really a turn off.
You start with the game with part of the TNA roster locked. The only way to unlock them is in the Story Mode. In the PS2 version you won't have the option to choose a CAW or a TNA wrestler. You will be Suicide X, only a different attire (yet in the Character Selection in Exhibition another wrestler). You know the story of Suicide... Attacked by LAX, left dead in the desert, etc. So you'll start by wrestling matches in Mexico, then you have tryout matches and finally you enter TNA if you're sucessfull.
In the Story Mode you will have to wrestle in boring tag team matches, face against characters that are not even real life wrestlers, and then face some heavyweights.
The ending matches of the Story Mode have an interesting story to tell but it's a rare to have cut scenes. You will often have to face 5 those created characters for 5 shows or more in a row and not one single cut scene.
After ending the Story Mode you should have all the characters unlocked and that's the end of the game.
There isn't another mode, not a CAW, or create anything. You don't even have belts to fight for.
With a little more than 50-60 moves, that most of the wrestlers share (you will notice more in the x-division matches as some wrestlers have the exact same move-set, except the finishing move), only one taunt (is what I saw and could use), not being able to edit attires or moves, and with so much little choices of types of matches this game isn't one for you to play for months.
It's a game for occasional fun with friends, only if it's a standart match. When you have more than 2 wrestlers in the ring the animations look like it's a PS1 game. It's true, it's damn true!
The entrances are way to short and just a video recorded from PS3 or XBOX 360 and played before the matches, the theme songs that play when the match ends are just 20 seconds that will start to play again and again.
So, not enough moves, modes or even wrestlers (25 or 26 TNA wrestlers, AJ Styles X & Chris Sabin X, that are only just different attires and 17 characters I never saw anywhere else) this is a game to rent or ask a friend to borrow it.
It's just not worth your money. The only thing that this game made me happy for after ending it in a couple of hours was that the new Smackdown vs Raw 2009 is almost here. And that is a Classic Instant.
