Blah. Simplistic fighter with nothing special to spice it up

User Rating: 5.3 | Tobal No. 1 PS
Gameplay:
Tobal No. 1 is a prime example of the 3-D fighter with no substance at all. The game has simplistic level design (all of which are square arenas) where everyone has just punches and kicks, with no real combos. There is also an story/run-around mode, but the controls are so bad, you will be lucky to try and put yourself through it.

Graphics:
Looks like a bunch of building blocks with different colors stakced on top of each other. Lame character design and level design.

Sound:
Horrid effects, voices, and music. Not much else to say about that.

Replay:
Low. The game has no real reason for you to keep coming back to it. The difficulty is really steep too. The game starts off very easy, and all of a sudden gets as hard as heck. This in turn makes you mad, instead of making want to strive to beat the opponent. When you do feel it, there is no accomplishment feeling, just a feeling of like you completed a chore.

Overall:
Not the best 3-D fighter around. If you are looking for a good one of those on PS1, stick with Bushido Blade.
