I'm sure there are many of you who don't know what the hell this game is. TJ & E could've easily become SEGA's mascot if it wasn't for Sonic. ToeJam & Earl are two quite funky aliens from the planet Funkotron (no joking) that need to rebuild their crashed ship. The game throws you into a randomly generated level with baddies, items, and ship pieces scattered around. The gameplay is simple, it's a simple platformer from a top-down perspective where you collect stuff and avoid bad guys. The innovative feature that this introduced to the gaming world was it's co-op. You could play the entire game with a buddy, but if one of you strayed too far then the game would go split-screen, so the productivity could be doubled. The game's graphics aren't that great, but it has style. The game's highlight to me is its sound, which is full of catchy music and hilarious fx. The game does have a great sense of humor, which is another plus. Overall, this game is not for everyone, but it's great co-op and random levels make it a pretty good value, and for fans of the original it's a no-brainer. For $8, it's a good choice, but you might want to consider Ristar or Castlevania IV first.
