If you like Touge racing like Initial D, you'll like this for sure. Still this is a great game...

the game starts with you choosing your own name and car, as you go on you'll start making a name for yourself, still this seems pretty normal but , as you go further you'll find out there more out there then just races, i'm not telling the plot here :P . the number of courses is round 20, witch may not seem much but, they are well know touge tracks from japan like Haruna (Akina in Initial D), Akagi, Hakone,... the number of cars is pretty impressive, you'll find mostly cars from Japan here (since this was originally a Japanese game), some European cars, but no American cars (I can guess why...). the tuning in this game goes far but not that far that you'll lose track of what you're doing. however the game is not you're 'strongest car wins it all' game. I myself drive a Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE 86 (Early Model) with only 305 hp and still beat the crap out of Imprezza's/Evo's/Skylines/FD's/...
The weather in this game is also pretty good, it will make you change tires to maintain your traction, because if you got the wrong tires, you'll might lose the race. The road conditions are very important.

Overall this is a great game if you know how to do it, witch is why i think that GameSpot gave it such a low score, take your time to read the manual, and have fun racing
