most biased pro review ever, still the best racing game ever

User Rating: 10 | Kaido Racer 2 PS2
This game just rules, it's the only thing that i've been playing for over an year and still give it a pop in every now and then. The fact that the physics are probably the best on the ps2, focuses on touge, a lot of fun, and has a drift mode(which GT5 adapted) is enough to make it fun. Another thing is this game lets you play with the tracks in regular or reverse direction, night or day setting, clear skies, rain, snow(aso and zao only), stormy whether and fog(yes thats originality there).

I love touge racing and drifting. this game makes you feel like initial D. Infact there are some characters that are intial D cameos. The storyline is actually amusing. You sometimes get a laugh for reading their profiles, and the BBS system lets you know whats going on, unlike other TXR games.

The physics in this game is probably the best on the ps2. I've never tried another game where you had to constantly adapt to elevation changes. You have to alter your braking points, amount of counter steer, etc depending on whether you are going uphill or downhill. it's not like GT4 where donuts don't work properly, and you can brake mid turn without worrying about brake fade or creating big oversteer and spin out without reacting. it handles at higher speeds better than enthusia, as the cars don't sway no matter how unstable it is in enthusia, and braking is superior. The atmosphere may have promoted a more arcady style, but thats what made the game so entertaining and challenging at the same time. With cars tuned correctly and drifty, this game easily surpasses enthusia as the best ps2 training game which it was praised for.

Tuning is also great. It's the only game that certain parts are more compatible with certain engines, for best performance. It's a little confusing for inexperienced. You can also dress up your car with decals. Customization isn't as great as forza, since you can't create decals and place them anywhere, but there's no other sim on the ps2 that lets you make your car look ricey.

The game really comes alive if you have a force feedback wheel. the feedback in this game is just great.

It's obvious the GS reviewer didn't spend much time on this game. You progress by beating rivals, and the day events are to earn money. Money in this game is easy since you just get a few sponsor decals and do the same things a few times. The GS reviewers say things like the car roster is not good because of the lack of number of similar models, and older cars. GT4 had even more of those and that didn't stop it from being a worst game. It's also worth noting that with a lightly tuned 130ps cappucino in this game, you can beat 400ps skylines in most courses because of the amount of twist and elevation changes which is a big plus. I happen to enjoy cars like the AZ-1, cappuccino, AE86, etc which are useless against monsters on a circuit. The review also criticize things like the music and graphics. I happen to think that the music is touchy, and way better than the NFS crap. The graphics are great for the ps2 and the cars look stylish to me. Backgrounds are truly beautiful with the cherry blossoms, leaves falling, rain effect, fog, etc.
