User Rating: 8.8 | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 XBOX
Ghost Recon 2 is the second game to 2001's excellent Ghost Recon. Now most people remember that the original was well made, realistic, and fun to play. Now the main problem many people had a problem with is the absolutely horrible graphics which had you looking all around for your enemy. Now those problems thankfully have been fixed and a ton of things have been added on. However there are still some small, but none the less irratating problems. So does Ghost Recon 2 live up to the original? Yes and no. Let's talk about what is good first. The 3rd person view is very well done and easy to get used to and it really helps you see more of the world. The graphics are very good, the water is gorgous and much of the background is very well done. Single player is very well done and easy to get engaged in. Animations are smooth and look real and sound effects are very good as well. Playing on Xbox Live is great if your playing by yourself. The biggest problem I have with the game is the AI team mates. Lets face it your team isn't the brightest bunch, and even though the sometimes they spot the enemy before you do there are many times they just sit there and look around. The command system isn't as great as it could have been. You can only move half your team over to a specific point and usually were they go is not were you pointed. Problem #2 in split screen of any kind, you have to play in 1st person. Now this isn't a problem if you didn't play the entire single player in 3rd person then there won't be a problem. However I had serious problems adapting after playing through the single player then trying to play split-screen. Why couldn't they have put an option? Idk I just hope they add a download or something. Now despite these very minor problems this game is still excellent and worth your money if you're a fan of military shooters. So I'll give it an 8.8 out of 10. Not perfect but very close.
