Ghost Recon 2 is a decent, one time around 3rd person shooter for the Nintendo Gamecube.

The original Ghost Recon was a instant hit. Now we have the follow up to the PC classic on the Nintendo GameCube. The game is set in North Korea in 2007. You and your 4 man squad set out on various missions to keep the North Korean government from destroying the world. This time around, the game has a smaller squad, and an over the shoulder 3rd person view. Pretty much, the view has been changed for the better, letting you see what your character is doing every moment, reloading, proning, shooting. It just makes the game more interesting. As for your squad commands, they are somewhat limited. Only several commands are availble like Regroup and sending your men to specified areas. Most of the game you wont even use them either.
The graphics of Ghost Recon 2 are pretty solid for the most part. The character models look nice and the level designs arent bad. The sound is probably the worst aspect of the game. When you shoot your gun, it sounds like a dying engine of a motorcycle.
One of the only reasons that people may be turned off to Ghost Recon 2 is the lack of multiplayer. The game is only one player so that obviously destroyes the replay value. There isnt even any co-op.
Now heres for the good parts of the game. The weapons are amazing. On various missions, you set out "Lone Wolf'' with awesome weapon prototypes. Second, there is constant action throughout the game. In most of the levels, there are bullets firing and planes roaring over your head. Overall its pretty exciting.
At the end, Ghost Recon 2 suffers from lack of multiplayer. Thats what really hurt this game. If you only have a Gamecube and love military shooters then DEFINITELY pick this one up. If you have a PS2, get Socom 3.
