This game is not horrible by any means. This review is for PS2 owners looking for an enjoyable FPS to pass some time.

User Rating: 7.1 | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter PS2
Most of the reviews that I had read about Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter were people who had played the X-Box 360 version and were comparing it to the PS2 version. O.k. we all know that GRAW on PS2 was not going to offer the same experience or satisfaction that the X-Box 360 or PC versions offer (not a comparison, just a fact). But this game is still very entertaining on the PS2 none-the-less. I had read all of the horrible reviews that plagued this game and yet I still wanted to see how it played out. While yes, the graphics are not as they should be for a game that was released in 2006, they are still decent enough to get the job done. If you have played Killzone and enjoyed it, then you might enjoy this game.. as both feel very similar in style. This comparison is fair because both games are from the same platform. I don’t feel that it’s fair to compare a next gen game to a current gen game in any way, shape or form. Especially since both platforms had different developers.

Good: 1.) There is a variety of great futuristic weapons, especially sniper rifles 2.) There is also a variety of environments that keep the game fresh from mission to mission. 3.) It is somewhat tactical for that you have one squad member that tags along on half of the missons that is under your command. You can comand him to move ahead of you and take out oncoming enemies. You can order him to take control of fixed machine guns. And he can destroy smaller armored vehicles for you. 4.) On some missions you can call in Air Strikes to take out soldiers and tanks. Bad: 1.) Graphics are not great for a 2006 release, but not horrible either. 2.) Enemy AI and death animations could have been a lot better.

Well there you have it. An honest review of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on PS2 that does not compare it to the other platforms.

I am at the end of the game and can honestly say that I have enjoyed all of it very much. I wouldn’t go as far as to recommend it for a purchase, but if a PS2 is the only console you own and you are looking for a good FPS to pass some time, then you can’t go wrong with it.
