If this game made its debut on the xbox instead of being ported right to the PC it might have been a bit better. But there is tons to complain about in this game...

The graphics are ugly and animations are slow and clunky looking. The a.i in the game is point and shoot, though enemies some times try to take cover. And the levels are big and confusing. I can't remember going through 1 level in less than 2 hours. And the squad control is comlicated. Deep down, Ghost Recon is a shooter with a lot of potential on the xbox. But with the crummy textures and technical issues, buy the sequels, and play this in a situation for PS1 style shooting.
