The Anti-Halo, but in a good way

With the hype and superb online execution of Halo 2, any connotations of Anti-Halo may at first sound negative. Allow me to explain. I am a Halo 2 fan, yet Rainbow Six 3 has hooked me. On the one hand, the competitive matches and crisp gameplay of Halo are nice, but so are the rewards of learning the complexities of the Rainbow Six multiplayer component. The maps have a good mix of open ended paths and choke points, which require a range of tactical skills. Team strategy also must be learned, as making a mistake can get you and your team mates killed in a hurry. Yes, a good right hook to the back of the head in a Halo deathmatch is extremely satisfying, but so is applying the beat down to your opposition with a well executed hostile takeover. The pacing is deliberate, but never seems to grow old. RS3 is a chess match where Halo is an adrenaline rush. While this probably means that RS3 is not extremely 'newb' friendly, give it time. It will be well worth it. The only negative things to say about the online play are the persistent cheaters, who lean-walk and wall glitch their way to more kills. My jimmy isn't so small that I have to cheat to win. Its a shame that some folks have that problem. But either way, cheaters can be avoided most of the time, and the gameplay online is great. Its the Anti-Halo, but in a good way. Its everything Halo isn't, but its also very good at it.
