Excellent game that provides some good action.

If you buy this game, I would only recommend buying it for Xbox Live. The single player is solid, but can become very repetitive over time. Most missions are fairly boring, go in and kill the terrorists, disarm a bomb or rescue a hostage here and there and then your done. The AI isn't that great either. Enemies will often stand there not noticing your presence until you fire a shot or two then they scurry about for cover firing the occasional shot or two. The AI is very inconsistant, sometimes it is excellent providing excellent realism, others it is terrible. The Multiplayer through Xbox Live however is well organized and is hands down the most fun I have had with an online enabled game. You can make squads of up to 100 (i believe) players of whom you can organize squad/clan matches through xbox live, and TeamCompete also supports this game. Thousands of people play this game so you're never without an opponent. The game features several different modes online that are Team Survival, Survival, Sharpshooter, Retrieval, and Total Conquest. Team Survival and Survival are your basic Team Deathmatch and regular Deathmatch modes. Retrieval is CTF, and Sharpshooter is getting the most kills within a set time limit. Total Conquest is a gametype where the objective is to capture 'transmitters' or command posts and hold them for a given ammount of time. All of these modes are really awesome IMO. There are several downloadable content packages already available that give you great new maps for the multiplayer which is nice. Stat tracking is also included to some degree, not as well as Halo 2's, but it's there. Overall the game is pretty sweet, the occasional run of repetitiveness, but it's worth the $39.99 price. Although if you're looking for a sequel for Rainbow Six 3, this isn't for you. This is merely a disc with new Multiplayer modes and a new Campaign. No upgrades to the sound, graphics, or gameplay are noticed, though some weapon animations are tweaked to make them look more realistic, but that's it. If you have Xbox Live, this is a no brainer, buy this game and love it. If not, it's worth a rental.
