Rainbow Six fails to impress in this PC/Console Port.
First off, Vegas has made some changes to the gameplay with regards to the "official" Rainbow Six formula. Gone is the planning and setting up teams. Its all about our two heroes Brian Armstrong and Shawn Rivers. While I miss the planning stage of the game, it is easy for newcomers to pick up this game and blast through a 5-15 minute level. Multiple weapon selection gives you a different feel everytime you play through a mission.
However, the only thing that makes this game worse than it should be, is the clunky controls. I have a hard time loosing a second analog stick and require face buttons to aim. This makes it difficult to take down multiple enemies quickly. Also, at only five levels (split into multiple sections) makes this an EXTREMELY short single player campaign.
Many features are missing in this title including the necessity of room clearing and covering teammates. Though this was a decent attempt at creating a Tom Clancy experience, Vegas fails to involve the players in a gripping story or fantastic gameplay.
