Rainbow Six: Vegas opens the franchise to a bigger crowd and succeeds with it's risks.

Rainbow Six: Vegas lives up to it's name and sets a standard for itself in the gaming universe. Before this game, it was doubtful that many people have played the series, and the games up until Black Arrow (and some after that) were mediocre but always had potential. Rainbow Six: Vegas realises this potential which makes it stand out for itself in the market. Let's start from campaign. It's a fairly long campaign as you control your squad to move around the level and breach doors and things like that. The campaign isn't that difficult until you turn up to the highest setting, this is where the real challenge comes but still makes the game very enjoyable. The terrorist hunt mode is similar to campaign but you kill a set number of terrorists on the map and you get few or no lives to do so. Again, easy to do on low difficulty and a challenge on harder difficulties. Multiplayer is definitely this game's strongest and selling point. There are numerous game variants and maps to keep people occupied for months, although a new person will most likely end up playing Attack & Defend on Calypso Casino most of the time because it's the most popular gametype amoung the xbox live gamers. The cover system is a very good feature but hasn't been tested enough as it slows down gameplay and gives some players a very big advantage, especially shooting corners. The gun sutomization in this game is fantastic as it offers a great amount of guns and attatchments that are unlocked overtime to keep people that care about such thing playing. This goes for the rank system as well as it will take months to get to the highest rank in the game, and although getting to create your custom camo is cool, it's limitation and the length of getting there doesn't make it worth playing the game just for that thing. Overall, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas is a great game and a great step in the universe of team rainbow.
