I'll get right to the point. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has tons of amazing features but a few aspects which somewhat ruin the experience. The graphics, lighting effects, voice overs, etc. contribute to wonderful presentation. The single player mode generally has the same gameplay as the first two but there are a few tweaks. Here they are. The Good 1. There is more of a choice to what weapons you can load out with. 2. There are some new moves that Sam can do. 3. If you set off a lot of alarms you don't fail, Lambert simply modifies you objectives and says to get out of there as fast as possible. 4. Sam also has stronger melee moves. 5. Sam has a knife which he can pierce generators and cut fabric with. 6. You can quick save. The Bad 1. The bad guys seem to not fall as easily when they're shot. 2. The levels aren't as linear so what you'll end up doing is getting lost, back-tracking, and getting confused. 3.There is a 3-D map to help but it's hard to find what room your in because it groups the rooms together. 4. There are very annoying opportunity objectives that are hard to complete. If you are good with numbers, there are more good than bad aspects but numbers 2 & 3 on the bad are huge. With this and the gigantic learning curve on the co-op mode this game is a teenie bit of a disappointment. But oh well the package is still solid and will deliver a great experience to all.
