When the first Splinter Cell appeared on the Xbox I was stunned. It was one of the best games I had ever played. I was amazed at the innovation and execution of the game; however it felt as if something was missing. When Pandora Tomorrow came around I was once again amazed as the spectacular multi-player drew me in, but do to the sub par first person experience, I felt like the game lacked. Finally with this entry Splinter Cell has been perfected. This is simply the best stealth game to date and one of my personal favorites of all time. GAMEPLAY The gameplay is spectacular. They have given freedom in their gameplay. What I mean by this is that they do not limit the way you should tackle situations as they did in previous entries. They give you the option at the beginning of the level to choose the tackle the mission using stealth devices and gameplay or assault devices and gameplay. This really doesnt change the gameplay other than giving you different gadgets, but you feel a lot less tense when you have more ammo at your disposal. The controls are implemented perfectly in the single-player gameplay. Every move is executed fast and effectively. The new share of moves can really get you out of tight situations. This is appearent especially in the new co-op mode which is absolutely amazing. Although co-op mode is short, it is very sweet as each mission gives memorable moments. Multi-player has changed a bit. All these changes have seemed to only affect the mercenaries. I guess they tried to make gameplay more even by giving the mercs more power but now the gameplay is unbalanced in the other direction as mercs are now way more powerful than the spies. For Example, the mercenaries can now knock a spy out by simply charging at them. This seems unfair especially in laggy games when the host has the advantage. Other than that the multi-player seems alot more fun. The gameplay is spectacular. GRAPHICS The graphics are easily the best i have seen on a console to date. Rain leaves characters looking realistically wet and shiny and environments look close to photo-realistic. The graphics do not need to be this good but the fact that they are shows the effort put into this game. OVERALL Overall the game is the best in the series and the best stealth game to date. Even if you are not a fan of stealth games this entry will most likely steal your life away. I would reccomend this game to anyone. It is simply amazing.
