The best Splinter Cell yet.
The first thing about the game that I noticed was the graphics, which were much better than I had expected. Steel has a nice, shiny texture that reflects light, rocks have a dull texture that doesn't do such a good job of reflecting light, and glass... well, basically, everything in the game has a very realistic texture applied to it. The modeling is great as well, with people actually looking as much like people as it is possible in the current generation of gaming and tons of detail on everything.
Usually, you are given a choice between one of two ways to go about the completion of a level. One is to use stealth and sneak through, while the other is to assault and go in all guns blazing, so to speak. Still, this game really isn't meant to be a shooter, and isn't really very action-packed, so if you're looking for lots of excitement and shooting, then you wont like this game. However, if you, like me, like to use stealth and don't care that it's not very fast-paced, then you should like it.
One of my favorite things about this game is the gadgets and equipment you get to use. Though it's also fun to do such things as hacking computers and keypads, climbing through vent shafts, hanging on to pipes, and remote accessing things such as computers. And there are always a wide variety of secondary and oppertunity objectives in most levels, so you do have a lot to do.
About the only part of this game that wasn't amazing was the sound, which was really only just average. Other than that, I can't really put fault on this masterpiece.
If you like stealth games where you use some high-tech gadgetry, then this game is for you, especially if you're a fan of the series. If, however, you are looking for a game where you run around mindlessley shooting everything, then you will not like this game, and I recommend you stay away from it.
