Fishers latest and easily his best

User Rating: 9.2 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory XBOX
Gameplay Single player This is definitely the games main highlight; it’s much better and far smoother than the previous titles. The main reason for this is the knife, which adds a whole new gameplay experience to the series, for example you can now make decisions on how to deal with your enemies, and you can either kill them with your knife or KO them with your hands/feet etc. depending on where you are in relation to them i.e. behind them, in front of them, to the side of them, above them or even below them! The whole trial and error portion of the series has been removed, and the game is far more accessible to new comers now, for example things like being spotted by a guard or alarms getting raised are a whole lot less serious, this is a good thing and a bad thing as some of the potential challenge has been removed. This with the ability to save anywhere, at anytime makes the game just that bit easier than SC1 which is a shame as the games length suffers for it, but no games perfect I guess. Co-op This plays similarly to the single player mode, but you play as splinter cells in training taking on various missions parallel to Fishers story, this mode is very enjoyable, especially on live, could have been a bit longer though. Versus Very similar to Pandora tomorrows versus, but with more maps and different weapon types for mercs, it’s very enjoyable and great fun to play on live. Graphics The graphics are gorgeous in this game and they easily hold their own to games like The Chronicles of Riddick and Halo 2, the game features plenty of cool effects like reflections and dynamic lighting effects. Sound Location specific accents and radio chatter between Sam and his colleagues really add a sense of atmosphere. Things like opening doors and guns being fired all sound spot on, as do all of the other sounds in the game, the music is pretty good but not really as good as it could have been, also the guards tend to repeat them selves a lot whether you’re in New York or Japan which I thought was pretty strange, but these are just minor complaints to a near perfect game. Summary All in all this is one hell of a game and easily one of the years best, with its combination of 3 fantastic modes of play, this is gaming at its best – Brilliant!
