Sam Fisher, friend of the shadows.... the graphics don't matter GameSpot!!!!!!

User Rating: 8.4 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory PS2
I got this game in exchange of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ( finally), and i thought it was well worth the £6 it cost me. i have only arrived at the 4th level, but i have thouroughly enjoyed what i have played so far. the small little features like the hacking and the lock-picking make it feel more fun and spylike and its extremely satisfying to find a way to split a pair of guards up and kill them one by one (which i rarely manage to do....). it is a shame that there is not more difference between a knockout and a kill, but it still can make you feel good, not murdering an innocent, or murdering someone who caused you a lot of stress. The co-op is good fun, if a little confusing, especially as i played it with my 7 year old sister the first time.... Although the moves are very cool, it is a shame they are so location-specific, because that is one of the best things about co-op. I am disappointed that Gamespot lowered the rating so much for graphics, because i never had any problems with frame rate, or the darkness; there is an option to adjust your brightness settings, so the darkness is as it was intended to be. However, this game would have been worth it at full price, let alone at that sort of excellent price.. i bought msg 2 sons of liberty the day after and i have barely played it; they are both spy games, but splinter cell throws you into action, but not action that seems overwhelming, like mgs 2 did; there were many heavily-armed enemies wandering around near me, putting me off straight away. splinter cell chaos theory is a game i recommend to anyone who enjoyed the other splinter cells, or anyone who enjoys slower-paced, but exciting games.
