Well what can I say....It's not Splinter Cell.
Sam doesn't move right, he jumps and shimmies on ledges like spider-man, even normal walking doesn't look as realistic as it did in previous games; when running he almost looks like Tommy from the GTA series, which looks utterly ridiculous for someone that is supposed to be a total bad-ass It may seem picky but that alone was enough alone to be a deal breaker for me.
Though Sam is more violent and ruthless, he doesn't feel as lethal as he has in past games. When he breaks a neck it doesn't even make a cracking sound. the hand to hand feels weak and out of place compared to the other games in the series.
The swearing from the combatants is annoying and distracting. I guess they never had a chance in previous games to yell expletives since they would have had a knife in the gut or back before they knew Sam was there; forget that in Conviction, Same doesn't even have a knive. Overall it feels like thugs are being killed instead of trained soldiers, though they are supposed to be third echelon operatives.
I could go on and on but true fans of the SC games know what it is aobut the previous games that made them unique and special. No other game I have ever played moved or felt like the SC series. Conviction doesn't feel like a Clancy inspired story, nor does it play like the series that once was worthy of the Clancy label.
