Splinter Cell: Conviction is an amazing game, it takes the series in a great new direction. Ok, lets start with the story. In Sam's latest adventure, he's a rouge agent finding his daughters killer. At first it sounds weak and shallow, but the way it is told and the twist and turns add depth and overall coolness to the story. The pop up movies on the wall, his thought, your current objective; no matter what it is I always stop and to see what it is saying or showing, the new feature is great. Also the way Sam's old war buddy narrates it is top notch.
The game play is fun and exciting, yes it is less stealthy and does favor shooting your way out tough situations rather then sneaking, the espionage is still there just not required. Mark and execute is a cool new addition which adds cool moves and combination to the equation. Another great new addition is the weapons and customizing them, it is a breath of fresh air in the franchise and fun. Lastly is the new gadgets, in campaign they can be a little over powered, but in deniable ops and competitive modes they are helpful in almost any situation.
Finally the technical aspects of the game. While playing you don't think any thing of the graphics, they aren't bad but not spectacular, but considering it is the Unreal 2 engine it is actually quite amazing. Voice acting is great, and the sound track is moody and ominous, in a good way.
This new addition to one of the most critically acclaimed espionage series' of all time takes to new heights in new and creative ways.
