6.5... OBJECTION !
If Both Xbox and PS 3 had same rating, meh ok, but to underrate this drastically the PC, i completely disagree.
Lets start with Story, it folows the aftermath of the Protagonist
Sam Fisher, a former member of the special ops cod named Splinter Cell who worked at an official governmental organization named Third Echlon. He abandoned the organization due to the "presumed" death of his daughter and the assassination of Lambert, his friend who betrayed him. *SPOILER*The story starts in a restaurant were he is contacted by a former combat advisor and colleague Anna Grim and told of an assassination attempt on him. Sam Fisher finds out later about a Mercenary Group known as "Black Arrows" plans on developing EMP technology to use against the government in Washington DC *SPOILER ends*
The Gameplay, if compared to the previous games can be noticed major changes in the combat and stealth. It might indeed be considered a very easy game, but it still packs good stealth and lots of action. The combat introduces the execute system, after taking out an enemy Hand to Hand, mostly fro stealth kill you gain the ability to mark other targets and eliminate in matter of seconds, however it is still possible to mark without having the execute, mostly for survey and keeping targets in check. Conviction introduces the liberty of choosing you're arsenal, primary and secondary, secondary is always a Hand Gun pistol, most of them having silencer. And primary could be Machine Pistols, SMG, Assault Rifles and a Shotgun(note the Suppressed shotgun was only for the Xbox), these weapons can be found in special weapon storage's which can be found fro out the game, sometimes can be found in the car from were you sometimes start a mission. Another Edition is the upgrade system, weapons and gadgets(EMP, Frag, Flashbang Grenades etc) 3 upgrades(for guns) per item, the upgrades vary for each weapon, Improved Bullets, Scopes, reflex Sighting, red dot, stocks, silencers, improved ammo capacity etc. these can be unlocked by doing achievements like Stealth Kills, Marking and Executing fro scouting the area with snake cam or Remote Cams, vanishing, vanishing fro EMP or Flashbang and so on.
The stealth like i said, was drastically simplified, but for people who are new to the series they are more comfortable with the level of Difficulty, you have a single walking speed when crouching, the enemies see you harder, Aldo if difficulty is set to 'Realistic" the level of detection is higher. You are able to take cover, sit at a window or a balcony, climb pipes, and be able to use you're handgun in this position.it is also to escape from combat by moving in dark areas, use flashbang or EMP grenades and move away from last known position. Personally i preferred the more easier stealth.
Multiplayer, this is probably were the game was hit hard, the matchmaking system doesn't work to well, it takes from 10 to 30 minutes to find someone, in game there isn't lag but many times there is Disconnection. Do the game types are well made and also the Co-op Story featuring 2 agents on several missions.
Graphics are very nice, thanks to the Unreal Engine, animations are splendid, the movements are correct, do just occasionally glitchy.
Sound is awesome as well, great soundtracks and fit each level and fight.
Overall this game is a must for any who likes Tactical Shooters, but fans of the Splinter Cell franchise might find it a little too easy. But for story its worth it. So my score is 8.5, a great game
