Beware of game-killing BUGS in the PC version!
Well, what's fun are the missions in the supposedly bad guys' headquarters where you stroll around their nest doing random stuff like peeping into files in obscure places, and getting either fingerprint or voice samples while on the snoop. It's a nice addition from the previous instalments, but the time limit factor is annoying sometimes.
The gadgets still have similar functions compared to the previous games but I don't use them much, relying solely on pure stealth, which is equally consistent and as engaging here. The 3D map is not helpful at all I find, which is kind of stiff and messy, being littered with keywords that are all over the place as you rotate the map around. Another major issue is that the enemy AI is baffling here, which spoils your judgment and planned tactics, given that the first 3 games don't have such problems in my memory. Also, bugs are a surprise nuisance even after patching, and could hurt your game if encountered at checkpoints. A fine game for the hardcore fan or if it's the first Splinter Cell game you've played, but as for me, the unresolved bugs killed my enthusiasm.
