This is definitely identifiable as a Splinter Cell game, but it's just not quite as 'revolutionary' as the other four.
User Rating: 7.5 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Essentials PSP
I've been a Splinter Cell fan since Pandora Tomorrow came out, and since then I've gotten all of them. The last one I got, I believe, was Essentials. I used to be so excited about that game, and think that it was one of the best of the Splinter Cell series, but once it ended, I began to realize that, honestly, compared to the rest of the series, it kinda sucks. Yeah, I'll admit, it's a decent PSP game, but not so much a decent Splinter Cell game. Once you beat the game, there is only a level or two that you'll actually enjoy playing again. The PSP controls and gameplay make the game quite frustrating if you've beaten it already and are just trying to make it through the level, kind of as a 'guilty pleasure' thing. Splinter Cell is one of my two favorite video game series, but this game keeps moving away from the #1 spot in my PSP ranks. Overall, this game is decent the first time through, and that first run is going to take you maybe a week if you're a true Splinter Cell fan. I'm a die hard Splinter Cell fan, so I'm glad I have it, just so I can have it. But if you're not staying with Splinter Cell for life, my recommendation is; rent it.
