Running parallel to the original's innovated gameplay, but lacking gameplay and creative alternatives.
User Rating: 9.1 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow XBOX
Well, obviously, I like the Splinter Cell series, lest I wouldn't have given the first one such a high rating. Why did Pandora get a lower rating from me? 1. because it's too short. 2. because it's too easy. 3. .... those are really the only reasons. Actually, it's quite fun, with new gameplay elements, such as the swat turn and the new zoom-scope on the SC-20K, but I say if you're used to the original, you'll whiz through it like a fat man through a doughnut box. Breaking it down: Gameplay- 9/10 Like I mentioned, there's notta lotta new elements involved. Of course, being a sequel, you would expect it to be very similar, but if not for the changed control scheme/HUD, I probably wouldn't have noticed a difference in gameplay. Also waaaaaaaay easier. I beat it in 14 hours, 1/2 the time it took me to beat the original Splinter Cell. Graphics- 10/10 Just as Splinter Cell's graphics were the best of its time, PT has the best of its time as well. People, especially Sam, look more realistic, and in the cut scenes they resemble the tuned graphics of the movie Shrek 2. Sound- 10/10 New music and voices. The only thing I don't like is Lambert's new voice. I hear he goes back to the original voice in Chaos Theory, (thankfully), because right now he sounds like the original, only it's like he's not had his coffee in a week and I get drowsy hearing it. I'm not gonna dis the game's sound for that though because at least the actor did the voice well. Replay Value- 8/10 Remember me complaining about Splinter Cell's shortness? Heh, this one's about half as short. I was gonna give it a 7/10 but that would ruin the 9 rating. (Hear that everyone? I'm moderating!!) Like I said earlier, it took me 14 hours to beat it, unlike the 28 for the original (I think it was 28...) In all, I wouldn't say not to play the game, because it's really good, but I'm glad I borrowed it and not bought it.
