Splinter Cell. A great game, but not the best port! I expected more thought to be put into the ps2 version. Arghhhhh!
chief amongst the problems was the lack of any customization in the control scheme. if the character doesn't move where i want to move them, then i will likely not enjoy the game. Clearly i've been spoiled by most games today which allow you to customize everything. So splinter cell felt like a slap in the face, proclaiming defiantly, "you'll play my way or not at all!" ridiculous.
Then of course there's the sensitivity of the game engine. Good lord the game is hard! and yes, i admit, i never did finish it, because it was killing me. Pandora Tomorrow is a much, much improved sequel, that fixed most all the problems i had with this one. and by now they're both uber-cheap.
So don't waste your money on Splinter cell. Go find pandora tomorrow and call it good.
