Splinter Cell is a game that takes all the masterful stealth moves of MGS and reinvents them while at the same time bringing something new to genre. The story (by Tom Clancy, obviously) is your basic terrorist threat set in the present. It's not at all very exiciting nor something to get your teeth into as it's basically a background to the games main attraction: the gameplay. Yes, Splinter Cell's gameplay is so amazing that it has the potential of being the top dog of stealth. Your character can perform a number of impressive moves to achieve the best way to stealth around enemies. Its all about hiding in this game. You also a load of gadgets and gizmos to try out and use including the impressive night vision and thermal goggles. The games so concentrated in its tense and exicting stealth that it comes as a let down when it comes to action. Gun battles are a let down and your guns really weren't designed for shootouts but nevertheless this doesnt let down the overall gameplay which, like i said is amazing. The graphics arent too great especially in fmvs but do the job most of the time. There's also a solid soundtrack that fits the games theme and some good voice acting. Overall Tom Clancy's Splinter is a fine game that reinvents a genre in the face of fierce rival and is a must play for all gamers.
