The best Tomb Raider in the series and a perfect action/adventure game. A must-buy.

I played this game when I was young, originally on the Sega Saturn. I thought the gameplay was a little bit cringeworthy with the Saturn's controller and the graphics on the Saturn version were a little bit too dim. But then I saw the Playstation version of the original Tomb Raider game, and I wasn't sure if it was going to be an improvement. But when I bought it, I was so wrong. It is absolutely perfect compared to the Saturn version.

The gameplay is so great. The controls feel so much better and more comfortable with the Playstation controller. The Saturn controller confused me in regards to what buttons I needed to press. This version of the game however, is so much better in terms of controls. You're basically trying to find the Scion of Atlantis by raiding various tombs. You have two pistols - you go around climbing ledges, collecting medi packs, trying to find secrets and shooting enemies. You visit real-life locations such as Peru, Egypt and Greece.

The graphics are so much brighter and shows the atmosphere and surroundings better. Lara looks better as well, instead of looking so dim.

Anyway, the save crystals is a little different in the two versions, if only in terms of looks. For one thing, in the Saturn version it was more of a light-blue colour. However, the Playstation version is a bit darker in colour, with electrical currents viewable. In my opinion, I think the Playstation version looks really cool. The question is... why are they different? Doesn't matter, so long as it plays good, which is more important.

The music is very few, since most of the game compromises of sound effects. That's okay though, because I like it quiet. The music that does play fits the tense situations Lara finds herself in.

OVERALL: The perfect game in my video-game collection and the best Tomb Raider ever made. You MUST try this.
