About the frustrations...

...controls and combat! I agree with pretty much all the good thoughts the game got in the reviews but somehow none of them mentions the two really weak parts which are the controls and combat. One thing that really killed me half way through (which is when I stopped playing) was that I got killed more by Lara jumping off to some random direction to her death than by enemies or traps. The acrobatics, the movement, her repertoir are all great - if you can make her pull them off! Sure, some say that the controls are only strange because they're relative to the camera and not Lara. But there's the point really: the camera angles are just terrible!! The often don't show the spot where Lara is supposed to jump so you miss the jump! Not as bad as in Soul Reaver by far, but definitely "recognizable". :(

The combat is also off a little because adrenaline kill requires you to target the enraged enemy when it charges but this is made impossible by the fact that you CANNOT switch targets! Srsly Crystal?! It is really not problem with lone enemies except: there are no lone enemies!! Also, it usually requires you to dodge at a certain point which is also quite impossible when you face 2 gorillas in a tight corrridor. But hey, you could say you just continue to pump 'em full of led without using adrenaline kill. Yea, except if an enemy enrages there is literally no way to avoid its attack: you cannot hide, jump or climb away from it it WILL hit you. And enemies do enrage, because they were meant to so you can use adrenaline. Well congratulations CD, well done.

These are mainly small things, I still beat half the game, but by then I realized I was being frustrated more often than the time I enjoyed the game and believe me I really tried. I don't "believe" in games that bring you frustration. If you don't mind, definitely give it a try it's a great reboot!! :)
