So i had this game over a decade on my shelf and i have no idea if i beat it. Almost 12 years later i decide to undust my PS2 and what to play... Tomb Raider! Last year i played the newer Rise of Tomb Raider on Xbox One... which left me with a bad taste of Lara.
The modern Lara of today is like a midget with smaller boobs. Rise of the Tomb Raider is also mindless human killing. If you listen to the commentary of Anniversary this is not what TR should be! Remember the old games on PS1? They were quiet places where you had to think! With the random croc or wolf attacking you. Not some one man army Lara Croft taking down a small army of today.
Lucky me i have Anniversary, a remake of the original. It is very different from the original work on PS1, but it feels like a true TR game. Like how Lara stands idle with her legs open... like she did on PS1. She is tall and athletic! The guys at Crystal Dynamics did a great job re-imagining the original work. But remember! This is not the same as the original game with the tank walking gameplay. Even though the areas are based on the original game they are very different!
I really can't say which is better. The original or the remake? I think i had the original PS1 game... which i sold. Big mistake! So i don't remember anything. From what i see on youtube, the original is unique and different, while the remake is a different more smooth playing experience. Both games are true TR1 games. Original or remake, both better than modern TR games.
