Listen to the wolf houl, dinosaur roar, bear growl and ready your guns! Anniversary is here!

User Rating: 9.8 | Tomb Raider: Anniversary (Platinum) PS2
Hello and welcome to my 3rd review! Same as all the others-Just ignore the sound part!

Gameplay
There aren't any back-breaking puzzles like in the original but compared to the original, this is WAY better. There are also unlockables like constumes, bios, messages etc. This game is made by the same engine as Legend. (A good thing!)

Good
For example, there was a cutscene in the original where Lara went to the top of this door via grapple, opened it, let out some wolves, shot the wolves and found a dead guide. Here, you have to make the way to the top of the door yourself using the structures around you (No grapple this time!) and press the button to open the door, letting the wolves out and killing the wolves to find a dead guide.. Similar innit? Only more has been added on! There are also cutscenes not found in the original such as those ones where you have to press a button quick or see Lara's demise. (Spoiler Warning!) The whole last battle on Anniversary is made up of at least 20 of these presses! (I read it in a walkthrough)

Bad
It feels kinda...I dunno. Let's just say it doesn't feel real in terms of the area. For example, when you shoot down a bridge, there is a metal rod left there "conveniently" for you to grab and do something gymnasticy on... Basically, It doesn't feel like "Nature"... Also, in Croft Manor, the swimmin pool hasn't been made yet and you have to solve a couple of puzzles to get your hands on any guns. ( you lose the guns again when you re-start croft manor due to there being a lack of save) So it get's kinda tedious. Be thankful the manor is optional! Oh yeah, before I forget, this game lets you go only one path through the (ruins) making it a bit linear.

Overall
Nothing hinders the gameplay enough to demote It's score! (Except for Croft Manor, but it's optional.

Graphics
Best on PS2! News Flash! Best on PS2! (Not counting Final Fantasy XII and God Of War)

Good
When you climb out of water, Lara doesn't drip. Instead, she-when you zoom in-looks like she has water on her! In colder places, this effect goes faster whereas it tropical places like Peru, it goes more slowly!

Bad
Erm...

Overall
I cant say enough about the graphics.... I just can't.

Sound
Remember that creepy water effect in Angel Of Darkness and where there was GREEN water? That's gone! Yay!

Good
Good sound effects for guns and other stuff. If you are in a room next to one with a bear/wolf/whatever in it, you will hear it make a noise.

Bad
Footsteps are kinda noisy in this game (specially for enemies)

Overall
I'm deaf so I can't hear music! (Pitch etc) Ignore this part if you wanna.

Value
It's better value than Tomb Raider 1.

Good
Croft manor, a higher number of puzzles than Original, better movement, great sound effects etc...Who would want more?!

Bad
Overshadowed by God Of War and Final Fantasy XII in terms of things to do. (You either continue the main game or play Croft Manor or just listen/see to bits you've unlocked in the main game/Croft Manor

Tilt
I don't have much of a clue what this is but i'm guessing it's the overall. Heck, ignore this part if I'm wrong.

Good
The creators of this game are quite good at everything. From sound to Graphics to Gameplay....etc

Bad
The creators really need to put more variety into this game, not just 2/3 things/modes...

Learning Curve
The tutorial is only like, 30 mins long so you won't have any trouble. (It's also in the main game)

Difficulty
Apart from a few minor hitches like there not being any proper puzzles to think about, It gets really easy quite often.

Time spent playing
It depends how interesting you find this game. I lose interest due to It's easyness so often it may be weeks before I get to finish this game.

I hope you enjoyed this review and will go out to get Anniversary sometime! It's on every console so there's no reason not to! See you!
