A pedestrian effort. There isn't anything wrong with game, it just doesn't do anything exciting.

This is the first Tomb Raider game that I have played. Before playing this game I played the three Prince of Persia games on PS2 and after it I played God of War. This game suffers from the comparasions to all of these games. The platforming elements were antiquated compared to Prince of Persia and the combat elements were inferior to both Prince of Persia and God of War. However, I did find several of the puzzles in the game quite enjoyable to solve. The game was relaxing to play since the difficulty even on the hardest mode was lacking. I found the time trial mode of each level a feeble attempt to increase the replay value of a short game. The same goes for finding the various hidden statues on each level. I did enjoy the story, but it was pretty obvious. The game feels like the developers main goal was to make sure the game didn't suck. They did that, but they didn't take any risks therefore the final product was bland. You won't regret playing this game, but you won't recall this game two weeks after you finish it either.
