Not exactly spectacular, but still good fun.

User Rating: 8.2 | Tomb Raider: Legend PSP
This is the first Tomb Raider I've played through and actually finished. The only other Tomb Raider game I played was on the PS. Went through 2 or 3 levels, and then lost interest. It wasn't a bad game. I just did not find it interesting.

And so, when this game was lent to me (along with the PSP), I was hesitant to play it. My impression of that first Tomb Raider game I played on the PS led me to never bother to look at another Tomb Raider game again. I guess you can understand how surprised I was to actually find Tomb Raider: Legend on the PSP rather fun.

I haven't played a lot of PSP games, but I was very impressed with the graphics of this game. Maybe it could have been better, though I wouldn't know about that. Whatever the case, I felt the level of detail in the graphics was more than enough for me on the PSP. The animation especially was, in my opinion, fantastic.

Sound effects were generally average. The soundtrack was appropriate, but nothing really that would leave you inspired. The puzzles were not too hard, yet at the same time satisfying.

Two things that bothered me were the controls and the storyline. The controls were just not accurate. It was hard to line up a good jump, and this made some portions of the game rather frustrating. This was also partially because of the camera angles. The storyline is, to put it quite simply, very cheesy.

IN CONCLUSION, Tomb Raider: Legend was good fun for me. Like I said, nothing spectacular, but good fun. Not too hard, not too easy, lots of great looking places, fun puzzles, and I even enjoyed finding all the hidden treasures in the Croft Manor after the game was done. That's unusual for me because I usually don't bother with a game after I finish it.

Fan of the series and you don't have the Xbox and PS2 version? Then you should buy this game. If you already have them on other consoles, obviously I don't think you need to pick this up, unless you're a Lara Croft freak.

For people who've never been into the series and don't have an Xbox or a PS2, I think this might be something of interest.
