Great puzzle action game but still ...
Tomb Raider : Legends is a great game for the psp but lacks some aspects of the ancients games of the serie . First bad thing : more based on the movie than on the serie .
Where's the dark ambiance of the Tomb Raider 2 and Revelations ? It's really too much like in the movie where Lara looks really invincible and like a superhero . They changed her mansion like in the movie (quite a bad idea) and now she got lot's of friends (like in the movie) . When you look at this it really sucks man . There's something in the game that doesn't really give you the felling that you're playing a Tomb Raider .
Second bad thing : the camera .
If it wasn't of the camera the gameplay would be awesome . Instead , it is always in the wrong direction and you always have to put it straight or else you'll fall in pits , traps and whatever . But still it comes bareable when you get use to it .
Third bad thing : loading times .
This game's one who's got freakin long loading times . And in addition of this , whenever you dies you have to wait for about 2 minutes of loading just to respawn at the last checkpoint .
Good points : Great graphics as all the PS2 import game . Since the graphics designer just have to regress the resolutions a little so the psp can handle the game it keeps pretty sharp . There's lots of little details but sometimes you can see that it is at low resolution . At one point I stopped playing for some minutes just to admire a big freakin giant waterfall , damn it was beautiful .
An other good thing is that the story is kind of good even if it is Tomb Raiders movie like . You understand a lot of things in Lara's past and the legend of Excalibur and all . The gameplay is awesome if it's not of the camera . Sounds are good but could be better .
The thing that amazed me was the physical engine , it's so real . When you pull a rock in a sense or in an other with it can change everything according of the field , weather and the force you're giving to the object . You can push , pull , kick , use and a lot of other things . This game wasn't what I really expected but it is quite amusing and good for the psp .
