People that thought Miss Lara Croft was dead... think again!

User Rating: 7.3 | Tomb Raider: Legend PS2
Miss Lara Croft is back and better than ever.

If you were one of those who were incredibly disappointed with Angel of Darkness, just erase that unfortunate fact from your heads and prepare yourselves to embrace this great new adventure.

Legend begins when Lara is given a tip about the whereabouts of an ancient artifact: a stone dais. She soon finds out that the stone is much more than just another historical item, having it strangely related with her own past... and the rest is for you to find out! It's really a nice story, easy to follow and very entertaining. The constant dialogues between Lara and her friends through the intercom are an excellent idea to keep the story moving, avoiding long silent breaks while you're playing through the levels.

As for graphics, the game surpasses all its predecessors, with the most beautiful and realistic scenarios ever crafted for this saga.
The level of detail is very impressive.

Gameplay . This has always been the most negative aspect of every Tomb Raider game (at least for the Playstation), and Legend is no exception.
Although you can notice a slight improvement, perfection is still a mile away. Starting with the camera that continues to present its usual glitches...
Imagine yourself in need to find a way out of a pretty straight edge, where Lara can hardly move. The "look" button seems the obvious solution right?
Erghhh... Wrong! Using the "look" button will only present you with a nice picture of the scenario, hardly useful to help Lara get out. However, the binoculars this time have their use and can help solve this problem.
There will be some fantastic opportunities throughout the game to "put the pedal to the metal" on an incredible Ducati. Oh, did I say fantastic?
I meant beyond average. It's actually a thrill to chase bad guys at a high speed but not such a great experience for those who are used to great racing games. It is very difficult to save Lara from a one on one encounter with a big, white rock that you can actually spot from far back. Well, I think you're starting to understand my point.

Regarding longevity, the game isn't very long. 10 hours are more than enough to complete it, not counting, however, with the time you spend in the house and on the time trials, winning a few extras.

Despite what I’ve just said here, don't get me wrong. I loved the game. And I really recommend you guys to try it out.
I think you won't regret it.
