So far Tomb Raider is among the best games I've played this year. It is not the cartoon Lara like earlier versions

I have played several Tomb Raider games but nothing like this . Lara has evolved into a character that you can relate too. I never felt attached to the earlier cartoonish Lara Crofts. Lara, now seems real and personal , you care about her . This Lara is much like Drake and Shepard where you draw personal feelings toward. This is her stepping out party, so to speak. She's changed for the better and the series now has new life. There's a lot to do in TR besides just eliminating the bad guys. Which is similar to earlier TR games. Some reviews have said that the other characters in the game aren't developed enough but this is Lara's story and they are there to enhance it. She is the STAR! Breaking down some of the finer points of the game.
Graphics: eye candy and varied. Lara and the game characters look real and the voices are clear and fit each character.
Controls: platforming and shooting flow smoothly and add a lot to the games enjoyment. I especially enjoy using the bow. It's silent and deadly.
Story: believeable and drives the game.
Sound: music is good, weapon sound real , everything sounds as it should.
Tomb Raider will be up there as a candidate for GOTY Awards. That's how good it is.
