The Hawk series has been going down hill since the third game. This game was actually one of my favorites though, but it was also a least favorite. THAW has several new moves which make this a better step forward, but it really does not offer enough that the other games do not have that really make it wonderful, the graphics are decent at best and there is definite lag even if there is no official load time, but there is gaps in time when traveling from area to area, just think of it as loading, but with you in control. They bring in a few more famous skaters into the game and a few made up ones just to entertain us. This game has by far the worst musical score of any tony hawk game, turning it into a punk rocker paradise of a game, even the "rock" songs are really punk it seems. This is also one of the easiest tony hawk games there is, the fact that you can play the story mode and just score over 5 million points in a single combo is kind of disappointing. You are also very limited in the create a skater mode and all the other create modes, its really rather disappointing. The classic mode does bring back allot of my favorite levels from the previous games really making playing with your friends who have been long time fans of the series rather fun. Tony Hawk really has not been too good for a while, they need to realize that the game needs to be about skateboarding and the love of it, not trying to make some hip new thing and making a total flop, back when the game really did not have much of a story it was allot better, you skated you competed you won, something they should seriously consider is making something on PS3 where you can play your own music, its hard to skate to music that isn't good, the fact that you can score 5 million points to bad music just goes to show that it really is not really well made. I don't know if I should love this game or hate it. People should only but this game if you have been long time fans of the series, or if you really like punk music and the whole punk style.
