A review on the latest addition to the Tony Hawks series, American Wasteland.

I had waited for this game excitedly for a while and when it came in the post I started playing it right then. The difference about this game is they have added a more complex story. The story is quite good, but some of the newly added features however, are not.

The ability to ride a BMX bike in game was a suprise and not a pleasant one at that. It just pulls away from what Tony Hawks is about, skating.

The Story Mode is incredibly easy, even on sick and I know this has been said before but the whole thing feels like a tutorial. When you start and objective the game places you right in front of the thing you are supposed to trick on.

In previous Tony Hawk games you had to find good lines and combos and this took skill, in this game however there is always a trickable object. It is just too easy.

Story Mode doesn't last long so you'll be hoping that the classic mode is a bit better:

While being fun, Classic Mode is also too short. The levels and enviroments are good though.

The best thing about this game is the Online Play mode, which is good fun. You are still better off sticking with THUG or THUG2.

All in all, it's a decent game, it just doesn't live up to the other Tony Hawks Games.
